Job Description
We, at Brewer Science, Inc, a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets are currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic candidate to fill an open position as a Controls Engineer/Programmer. This position will be located in Rolla, Missouri.

Summary: Responsible for establishing, developing and implementing a manufacturing control framework which meets the objectives outlined above. Integrates this framework with Wonderware, Oracle enterprise application systems, and other data analysis systems. Designs, develops and installs control systems and software for new and existing manufacturing processes. Ensures that all manufacturing control systems are operational and that process monitors and alarms are working as intended.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Works with the systems analyst, manufacturing, metrology, planning, and various other teams to develop and implement a manufacturing control, monitoring and analysis framework.
  • Automation and data acquisition platform development
  • Monitors, troubleshoots and fixes problems with the manufacturing control systems.
  • Ensures connectivity between shop floor control systems and other business software (e.g. Oracle, Wonderware, etc.) is maintained
  • Supports the AMT and Manufacturing personnel by designing and building process control systems as necessary.
  • Documents scripts, processes, and operator training materials.
  • Provides training and education to personnel in the support of the control systems.
  • Application development to meet the needs of the Manufacturing and AMT teams.
Credentials and Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related degree.
Technical Competencies
  • Knowledge of process control standards, computer and database applications
  • Ability to create or modify computer programming using a variety of programming languages or software packages.
  • General knowledge of basic office equipment sufficient to perform the major job duties and tasks
  • Ability to provide clarity around ideas, expectations, and tasks for others
  • Ability to make oral group presentations to persuade others to accept a specific opinion or action; to provide information; and/or to explain procedures and policies
  • Demonstrates broad, in-depth, and up-to-date knowledge in pertinent fields and awareness of current technology
  • Keeps up-to-date with new practices, trends, and standards in the field by reading journals,
  • attending professional meetings and conferences, holding discussions with experts, etc
