PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Controller/DOF is responsible for a wide range of activities including preparation of monthly financial statements, refinement of the company’s accounting and finance infrastructure, a variety of financial analyses, risk management initiatives and various special projects. The DOF/Controller will closely partner with leadership to analyze the company’s financial results, deliver accurate reporting and develop prescriptive financial projections. This role involves working hand in hand with all of our internal teams. This position will be expected to develop and lead teams across all facets of the account and finance functions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Building, leading and developing a high performing accounting and finance team
• Creating an atmosphere where people are engaged, rewarded for progress, and share a strong sense of ownership of the organization
• Development, implementation and control of systems and records for accurate reporting and recording of financial information
• Overseeing and ensuring accurate monthly financial close, reporting, and financial forecasting
• Standardizing and maintaining system of accounting records and techniques
• Complying with all accounting, tax and financial laws, regulations and principles
• Working closely with the public accounting firm to timely and successfully complete the annual audit
• Controlling the general ledger to ensure that all invoices, cash receipts, invoice adjustments and general ledger transactions are properly documented and recorded
• Directing special ad hoc projects comprised of cross functional teams, as needed
• Providing thoughtful recommendations for efficiencies, investments and/or capital expenditures

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

• Reports to the Senior Vice President of Finance
• Maintains functional relationships with other members of the Executive Team
• Maintains functional supervisory relationships with accounting, legal, administrative, and any vendors that provide outsourced functions that fall under disciplines in this job description.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
• 10+ years of experience in accounting or controllership
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
• Flexible, strategic team player with high integrity and ethical standards
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• General Ledger experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CPA/MBA
• M&A or Post Merger Integration experience
• Hospitality/Restaurant experience
• Treasury experience
• Comfort working in the grey/unknown
