The Continuous Improvement (CI) Technician reports directly to the CI Manager, and is responsible for practical application of the basic Lean tools and conducting / leading Kaizen activities throughout the manufacturing and administrative areas of the plant. The CI Tech is responsible to document and implement any and all cost saving opportunities as they are presented. The CI tech will be responsible to foster a culture of sustainable change by applying LEAN and SIX SIGMA methodologies based on DBS approach (Danfoss Business System) creating impact across all KPI’s delivering world class products to customers on time.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
  • Facilitate CI Rapid Improvement Events (Kaizen events) to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost (SQDC)
  • Lead CI problem solving activities and task force to improve process performance in SQDC to eliminate chronic losses from the root cause and avoid recurrence of problems
  • Lead and influence the Continuous Improvement Teams (CIT cross-functional teams) to implement sustainable Lean solutions using the A3/8D problem solving methodologies
  • Implements Lean and continuous improvement best practices through the organization
  • Implement Kanban supermarket / pull systems
  • Sustain 5S+ implementation and sustainability
  • Address flow issues by documenting proposed future states on VSM
  • Implement and sustain Standard Work methods
  • Provide input to SQDC risk assessments
  • Implement Error Proofing devices Poka Yoke across the Plant to prevent errors
  • Complete 8 source of waste audits
  • Abide by all facility SQDC guidelines, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required (basic) qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications

  • 1 year experience working in a Continuous Improvement role
  • Experience with value stream management or other process documentation techniques
  • Knowledge of basic lean tools
  • Knowledge of leading Kaizen events
  • Basic knowledge of the DMAIC process
