JOB DESCRIPTION
Identifies and eliminates all forms of waste in the Plant by utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts and the principles of Kaizen (continuous improvement). Effectively co-leads teams using the VT Advantage Builder toolbox, along with Lean Manufacturing principles. Drives performance excellence and embraces the role of change agent. Applies Six Sigma methods to reduce variation and enhance production processes and levels of quality. Reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager.
Job Summary:
? Serve as a Lean Six Sigma Subject Matter Expert
? Lead efforts across interdepartmental sections to identify waste/variation and implement solutions for continuous improvement
? Analyze work processes and develop and communicate robust standardized best practices and process controls
? Participate in operational excellence forums and process improvement committees
? Serve as proponent and co-champion for key business metrics and focused business scoreboard
? Perform gemba terrain walks to engage Plant personnel in solving key problems using core competencies and the Coaching/Improvement Kata
? Create effective performance visualizations to communicate objectives and productivity posture
? Assist all employees in the implementation and sustainment of 5S
? Support the Employee Suggestion Program by helping employees develop and implement their ideas and concepts
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Desired Work Experience:
1 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
NOTE: A combination of relevant education, training and work experience will be considered for this position.
Required Skills:
? Intimate knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing concepts and their application in a production environment
? Understanding of basic manufacturing concepts and/or systems
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Powerpoint
? Familiarity utilizing and retrieving data from relational databases
? Ability to create clear, organized and interesting presentations and deliver them to diverse audiences
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Ability to use interpersonal skills to co-lead team-based projects, actions, and “do-its” across organizational boundaries
