Role Overview. Under the direction of the Managing Director, the Consultant serves as the client relationship manager and leads the Client Service Team. The Consultant has major donor fundraising experience and is responsible for providing the client insight and counsel regarding major donors and orchestrating the on-stage program.
Responsibilities.
1. Serves as primary relationship manager with the client. Builds a strong long-lasting relationship with clients at all levels of leadership, including the client’s CEO and Chief Development Officer, based on a high degree of integrity and professionalism. Proactively drives pre-event preparation and communication with the client, anticipating client needs, and instilling confidence and trust. Resolves concerns raised by clients with a win-win approach. Prepares agendas for and co-leads key client meetings including: Orientation, Kickoff/Creative, Mid-Point, Script Run-Through and on-site Rehearsal and Staff Meetings.
2. Leads the Client Service Team so that products and services are delivered on-time and with excellence to ensure a successful MDE and an exceptional client experience. Leads the client account team and is knowledgeable of deliverables in process with event services and creative services to ensure a successful major donor event and an exceptional client experience. Collaborates with the Event Service Manager, the Creative Director, the Creative Account Executive, and other team members and vendors to deliver a unified, seamless experience. Assists in any Client Service Team activity as necessary to ensure a successful MDE and an exceptional client experience. Leads regular meetings with the Client Service Team and others to ensure all matters are appropriately addressed.
3. Provides insight and counsel regarding major donors. Provides the client team best practices in major donor cultivation and how to maximize MDE results. Leads the client through the wealth analytics process in order to identify the prospective donors with the highest propensity to support the client’s programs. Assists clients with the development of an effective invitation strategy and keeps them accountable for executing on the plan. Trains and coaches the client’s leadership and Board of Directors in their role in executing the invitation strategy, provide scripts as needed.
4. Provides overall program strategy and leadership. Understands the client’s vision and assists them in strategically presenting their mission and funding opportunities to donors. Assists clients in identifying the right speakers and artists to support their message and culture. Coaches all program participants prior to the event on their role and expectations. Manages the event program on-site and ensures all participants are prepared and stay with their allotted time.
5. Supports the business development process. Provides support to the Managing Director and others in business development efforts, such as strategic partnerships, conferences, pursuing leads, etc. Addresses technical questions and sets appropriate expectations with prospective clients.
6. Accomplishes other objectives, as necessary or assigned. Completes other activities related to Major Donor Events or company related projects as assigned from time to time.
Schedule/Travel. Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 am – 5:30 pm for non-travel days. Major Donor Events require travel and work from Wednesday to Sunday. In addition, travel is required for client meetings, site visits, etc. Required travel will be approximately 30% and may be up to 50% during the spring and fall season.
Qualifications.
Experience
· Prior experience as a Major Donor Gift Officer or Major Donor Consultant
· Prior experience in managing events preferred
Skills
· Excellent verbal/written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
· Experience in using email/calendaring, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Education

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation will be based on experience.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
