Job Description
Avalere Health is seeking a Senior Associate/Consultant l to join our growing Financial Services Practice.
Avalere’s Financial Services practice provides regulatory and reimbursement due diligence services to some of the country’s largest and most active healthcare investors. Our clients include private equity firms and healthcare service providers that purchase control stakes in non-public healthcare companies, as well as institutional asset managers that buy and sell securities issued by healthcare companies. Our services include identifying and gauging the magnitude of the regulatory and reimbursement risks inherent in these investments, assessing opportunities for growth, and advising our clients on the potential impact of healthcare policy and regulatory changes in an ever-evolving market. We work closely with other practices within Avalere, applying the full scope of the firm’s knowledge base and data analytics to the development of multidisciplinary, creative solutions on behalf of our clients.
Responsibilities
Manage and engage in due diligence projects with cross-practice teams on behalf of private equity and corporate clients
Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on a wide range of healthcare issues, at both the federal and state levels
Prepare written materials identifying the key diligence issues and then presenting conclusions and recommendations to clients
Manage relationships with new and existing clients
Develop and maintain subject-matter expertise in specific healthcare sectors
Quickly expand knowledge in evolving healthcare subject-matter topics as driven by client interests
Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement
Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position
Fulfill those responsibilities and duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the company
Uphold responsibilities relative to the separation of duties for applicable processes and procedures within your job function

Skills, Experience, and Other Job-Related Requirements
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a graduate degree in business, law, public health, or other health field
Skill Requirements
Strong understanding of the fundamental elements that drive the healthcare policy, regulatory, and reimbursement landscape
General understanding in one or more healthcare verticals (examples include reimbursement and coverage, physician and provider, pharmacy distribution, life sciences, device and DME, health plans and payers, Medicare, and Medicaid)
Strong quantitative skills, including data analytics, with extensive experience utilizing these skills
Ability to quickly understand and articulate complex concepts and relationships
Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and holistically about issues related to clients’ potential healthcare investments, often under tight timeframes
Demonstrated ability to be proactive, learn independently, and anticipate work-flow or policy issues in advance and develop effective solutions
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment
Very strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, in which most of our analyses are developed and presented
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), survey and interview skills, and the ability to deliver professional presentations to colleagues and clients
Prefer eventual location in Avalere’s offices in the District of Columbia
