Overview:
The Consultant-Dark Fiber will support Windstream network asset sales (IRU, leasing, swaps, etc.), providing essentially sales engineering for identified asset (dark fiber, conduit, etc.) sales. Primary tasks will involve conducting asset investigations and interacting/communicating across involved Windstream organizations.
Requirements:
Demonstrable understanding of basic telecom network construction methods/specifications
Underground vs. aerial (types of placement; direct buried, in conduit, distribution, power zone, OPGW, etc.)
Fiber types
ROWs
Demonstrable experience with network assets sales/sales engineering
Understands asset sale sales process
Understands basic contract issues (IRUs, leases, etc.)
Understands basics of associated services (maintenance, colocation, etc.)
Successful track record in
Meeting deadlines
Developing/understanding pricing
Responsibilities:
Conduct Stage 1 fiber availability investigation
Review/investigate opportunity
Fiber availability confirmation either with/through Fiber Engineering or via access to Fiber Engineering data base(s)
Contractual issues investigated/understood
Fiber/route “fitness” for sale
Investigate/Identify OSP costs
Prepare (w/sales) proper documentation for WIN internal approvals
Coordinate internal approvals
Communicate/negotiate (w/sales) business terms and conditions
Manage risk management for WIN
Understand Uniti implications
Manage/facilitate document production process/timeline
Identify with Contract Manager proper document form or existing agreement to use
Prepare exhibits (maps, route details, colocation requirements, etc.)
Desired Qualifications/Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent related experience
Knowledge of telecommunication practices for implementing sales processes
Knowledge of telecommunication asset transaction contracts
Experience leading telecommunications projects (Fiber to the Tower, Broadband development and expansion, network system deployment and augmentation)
3-5 years of network development, network asset transaction project
3 years Project Analyst or 2 years as Project Manager
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements: College degree and 5-7 years professional level experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience; or 9 years professional level related experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
