Consultant, Cloud Solutions and Emerging Technologies

Remote USA

Dell Technologies is a worldwide provider of end to end technology solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Solution Architect to join our Customer Solution Center team. As part of Dell Technologies Global Presales organization, the Customer Solution Centers are responsible for architecting and building complex customer proof points in our state-of-the-art labs, to allow customers to experience the power of Dell Technologies products and solutions.

With deep domain expertise in cloud solutions and emerging technologies, work directly with customers delivering technical briefings, leading architectural design sessions and building/testing complex proofs of concepts (POCs). A deeply technical role, you excel at cloud and data center architecture, engineering and the validation of IT systems as you build, test and validate customer use-cases, delivering solutions tailored to their environment.

Responsibilities:

Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and:

  • Lead, collaborate ad consult on technical briefings and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for Cloud and Emerging Technologies (ET) including planning, development and engagements as part of the VMWare Showcase program. Develop, populate, maintain, and execute the demo catalog and all showcase hardware.
  • Liase with VMware/DellEMC Business Units and Product teams to evaluate inclusion/expansion into VMware showcase. Participate in Tanzu Elite and Cloud Aces programs
  • Provide Technical SME services and assistance to:
    • Cloud and Emerging Technologies Solution Architects (Globally)
    • Cloud Sales Specialists
    • VMWare DELL Synergy Acceleration Team (DSAT)
    • Global compute and networking teams
    • Global Presales system engineering
  • Manage and run the Cloud and Emerging Technologies practice for the Americas
    • Hold bi-weekly meetings that includes team reviews, new product introduction, and collaboration on engagements
    • Develop, track, and guide team in knowledge plans to move from 101-501 in the Cloud and ET Specialties
    • Liaise with the other practices on topics that overlap teams
  • Lead APEX Enablement activities globally and more targeted in the US and deliver APEX (DSS and Cloud Services) engagements directly

How your experience will help you hit the ground running:

Essential Requirements:

  • (Both Business/Outcome focused experience as well as deep hands-on configuration/operation)
    • Deep experience in VMWare Cloud stacks – vSphere, VSAN, NSX-T, VCF, VMC on AWS, VMC on Dell EMC; In-depth VMWare Tanzu experience – TKGI, TKG, TKGm, TMC, TO, TAS on K8s, NSX ALB
    • Deep hands-on experience in upstream Kubernetes on multiple platforms including bare metal, virtualized, private/public cloud service offerings; Deep Dell Server/HCI knowledge – 401-501 level in-depth server experience.
    • Hands-on experience with RedHat Openshift both on bare metal as well as virtualized with deployment, configuration, and operational experience
    • Intermediate Storage/Dell Networking experience – PowerStore, PowerScale, and PowerSwitch (L2/L3 and BGP)
    • Experience in hyperscaler’s cloud-native offerings: AKS/EKS/GKE as well as relevant eco-system offerings (EC2, ECS, S3, etc

Desired:

  • Cloud Native Application Design experience (API-Driven development, Service-Mesh, Microservices, PaaS (PCF/TAS))
  • Distributed Data Platform Offerings (Hadoop, Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis, Spark)
  • AI/ML Experience (Nvidia K8s Operator, GPU plugins, Basic Tensorflow / Jupyter notebook)
  • Based near Round Rock, Texas
