Job Description

As a seasonal Construction Project Representative on our team, you will:

  • Observe construction on transportation projects such as roadways and bridges
  • Ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications, document the day-to-day field activities, coordinate material sampling and testing, and measure quantities
  • Prepare for and assist with preconstruction, progress, and conflict resolution meetings
  • Occasionally negotiate and prepare construction change orders
  • Effectively interact and communicate with clients, contractors, and other SEH personnel
  • When field activities are not in progress, office work may also include design or CAD activities, assisting with development of proposals, estimating project budgets and schedules, and completing constructability reviews of project plans depending on workload and ability of the candidate


Job Requirements


Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and be able to walk and climb over rough terrain associated with construction sites
  • Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds (concrete cylinders or similar items) regularly
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally in order collect material samples
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and be able to provide own means of reliable transportation to travel as needed from team meetings, client consultations, on-site observations, etc.
  • OSHA 10 Training or ability to complete the course
  • Overnight travel may be required, depending on project location
  • Must be self-motivated, responsible, and willing to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Resident Project Representative on WisDOT/City/County construction projects involving highways and structure projects
  • Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or related field
  • Knowledge in basic surveying procedures and construction staking understanding
  • Knowledge of AASHTOWare software Highway Technician Certification Program (HTCP) Certified in PCC, Aggregate and Density testing
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Previous experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Excellent record keeping and communication skills


Additional Details
