Job Description
Location QT - Statewide - , AZ US (Primary)
Category Administrative / Clerical Job Type Part-time/Full-time Job Description

The Company: Quality Testing, LLC (QT) has been helping owner agencies, contractors, construction managers, engineering consultants, and private developers achieve and document the quality of their construction activities and processes since the year 2000. Although quality programs within the heavy civil construction industry will vary depending on numerous agency and project driven factors, successful programs always involve a well-orchestrated combination of technical resource management, product workmanship verification through inspection, and physical property quantification through materials testing. As an Arizona based engineering firm, QT provides an array of construction services in each of these quality program major functional areas.

The Position: QT is currently seeking multiple individuals to serve our clients on construction projects in a role identified, for the purpose of this solicitation, as Construction Inspector. Depending on future contract demands and resource availability, selected individuals may also be considered for other QT contract positions with working titles such as Lead Inspector, Civil Inspector, Structures Inspector, Quality Control or Quality Assurance Inspector, Field Technician, or numerous other titles as dictated by specific project or agency nomenclature. Regardless of the working titles used for a specific project, the basic objective of this position will always be to assure that construction contract compliance is being achieved and documented.

Job Requirements

The Candidate: Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience performing inspection and materials testing on major heavy civil construction projects. Experience should include inspection and materials testing related to the construction of ROADWAYS, BRIDGES, UTILITIES, DRAINAGE SYSTEMS, AIRPORTS, RAIL SYSTEMS, DAMS or similar PUBLIC WORKS type facilities. Candidates having a blend of technical certification that includes ATTI, ACI, ATSSA, ICC, AWS, and IMSA, all or in part, are preferred. When evaluating candidates, the degree of technical registration and certification will be an important consideration; however, no rigid minimum requirements are being set at this time. Schedule flexibility and a willingness to travel, both long and short term depending on project needs, is highly desirable. Candidates must be detail oriented; be comfortable working with numbers and evaluating data; have strong organizational skills and multi-tasking ability; and be committed to researching and understanding project technical specifications and details. This position also requires an unyielding commitment to both client and project owner satisfaction, proficiency using computerized data collection and reporting tools, a better than average ability to communicate in both the written and verbal format, and an ability to develop and maintain positive and productive working relations with co-workers, construction contractors, subcontractors, other consultant personnel, clients and owner representatives.

Schedule and Compensation: This position is intended to be full time; however, alternate arrangements and schedules may be considered depending on a candidate’s specific skill set, experience, and existing schedule constraints. Positions classified as full time come with a full benefit package that includes health insurance and significantly matched 401(k) participation. The starting wage for this position will be established on an individual basis, considering demonstrated skills in relation to market billability expectations. Salary is negotiable and signing bonuses are likely.
