The Opportunity:

You will be a key contributor to a knowledgeable team of engineering, architectural, and construction professionals as you prepare estimates by developing project work breakdown structures, calculating complete scope of work take-offs, applying construction means and methods, and calculating indirect field and overhead costs. Teams may also collaborate with you on the quality and amount of input necessary to develop the required level of design build construction estimates. You’ll tap into both your creative and analytical sides in this role as you develop reports and presentations as well as analyze historical data.

General Requirements:

  • 10 + years of experience in preparing and reviewing cost estimates.
  • Bachelor’s degree (in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred)
  • Estimating experience with civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical scopes of work and costs.
  • Knowledge of Excel and common estimating software.
  • Strong and effective written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Able to complete tasks independently.
  • Demonstrated understanding of estimating organizational structure and process, from feasibility studies through construction phase including:
    • Quantity takeoff and pricing
    • Create cost models for estimating elements
    • Review drawings and specifications to accurately determine time, cost, labor, and quantities of materials needed for projects.
    • Prepare detailed cost estimates of labor, materials, and equipment.
    • Solicit and review subcontractor proposals to confirm pricing as necessary.
    • Consult with clients and vendors to discuss and formulate estimates.
    • Prepare and maintain historical cost data, contingency/risk factors, knowledge of markup structures, and documentation of estimates.
  • Experience with lump-sum, cost-plus, CM at risk, and design/build a plus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required.
