Job Description

Loureiro Contractors, Inc. (LCI) is a contractor with a broad range of experience in infrastructure development, environmental remediation and demolition. Our in-house capabilities include: sitework, concrete construction, soil/groundwater/sediment remediation, roadways, bridges, earth retaining systems, underground utilities, and UST removal and replacement.

Loureiro Contractors, Inc. (LCI) is searching for a knowledgeable and experienced Concrete Superintendent for projects in the New England region.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote job site safety and encourage safe work practices.
  • Monitor work performance and productivity of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications, procedures, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct daily walkthrough of the project site(s) ensuring work is being accomplished safely and occupational health is not compromised.
  • Prepare work schedule, determine manpower requirements, material quantities, equipment needs, and supervise completion of final punch list.
  • Provide updated three week look ahead schedule for your area of responsibility.
  • Direct all field personnel to complete the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to the plans and specifications.
  • Advise Project Manager/General Superintendent of potential and/or real problems and assist in resolving them.
  • Supervise Foreman, laborers/craft workers and subcontractors assigned to an area of responsibility; act as liaison between field engineering and foreman, laborers/craft workers, and ensure work complies with drawings and specifications.
  • Review production reports weekly, initiate field change requests, and prepare vendor or subcontractor back charges with the Project Manager/Project Engineer.
  • Conduct quality inspections and coordinate onsite testing and inspections.
  • Maintain daily diary of any activities using HeavyJob.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Familiarity with working in a union environment is a plus.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of Bridge construction experience with 3+ years of being a Superintendent/Leadership role.
  • Current OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card; or the ability to acquire a current card.
  • High School Diploma or GED required along with valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in scheduling, field supervision of civil construction crews and monitoring production.
  • Knowledgeable on concrete bridge components and construction processes
  • Strong leadership/organizational skills to keep the project on schedule and on track.
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to quickly learn LCI's various policies, procedures and software programs.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems as they arise.
  • Ability to look at and understand plans and specifications for the project.
  • Ability to look at issues from various different angles and render good judgement.
