We are seeking a Computer System Engineer to join our team supporting shipboard installation / upgrade of SEWIP systems onboard U.S. Navy Ships.
We have positions open in Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Support installation and upgrade of AN/SLQ-32 SEWIP systems onboard U.S. Navy Ships
- Administer VxWorks and Linux systems on Navy ship systems
- Assist in planning, configuration, and testing of unclassified and classified systems,
- Support and interact with the Government cybersecurity system engineers, system administrators, system engineers, and system developers.
- Perform security assessments using DoD provided tools; reporting results to the cybersecurity system engineer, and developing strategies to mitigate discrepancies.
- Perform day to day bring up and debugging new systems to include maintenance of network infrastructure, end user issue resolution LAN connectivity issues, access control management.
- Provide Linux and system administration services to support government systems.
- Provide system administration support and administer, configure, and troubleshoot Red Hat Linux servers and workstations.
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have or obtain an Active Security Clearance
General Experience:
Five (5) years of hands-on technical experience supporting RHEL and LANs, WANs, network segments, internet and intranet systems. Experience including:
- Must have a BS preferred Masters
- System Configuration
- Software management
- Security management
- Installation and configuration of hardware and software
- Operating systems and COTS software
- Operating computer systems in different operating environments, sizing, performance tuning
- Hardware/software/network troubleshooting and resource allocation
Specialized Experience:
- Advanced experience with Red Hat Linux
- Network Protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, and ICMP
- Major network security tools such as firewalls, knowledge of computing and networking vulnerabilities, attack methods and latest detection methods
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
