Job Description
Overview: As a member of the legal team, the Compliance Manager will be focused on enhancing and managing our risk and compliance programs through staying abreast of current regulations, proactively identifying gaps in existing policy frameworks, and collaborating across the organization to create, plan, and execute innovative solutions.Responsibilities:

- Implement and manage an effective company-wide legal compliance program
- Review, develop and update company policies, including those relating to document retention, FCPA, sports betting, safe sport and others
- Serve as MLS Next’s primary liaison with the US Center for Safe Sport, youth organizations, professional organizations and others in all matters related to youth and athlete protection issues
- Coordinate, produce and oversee the implementation of effective educational programs, including those for the MLS Next member athletes, their parents, coaches and clubs
- Advise management on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports
- Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations
- Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risk
- Assess company operations to determine compliance risk
- Resolve employee concerns about legal compliance
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- 3+ years of proven experience in a compliance officer role
- In-depth knowledge of legal requirements and procedures
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
- Experience in the development, initiation, maintenance, and revision of policies and procedures for the general operation of a compliance program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct
- High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
