The Compliance Manager performs essential duties within the Compliance Department to ensure the Company’s strategic growth initiatives are achieved in a compliant manner under the guidance of the Senior Vice President of Compliance. We are looking for a Compliance Manager to join our team.
The Compliance Manager performs essential duties within the Compliance Department to ensure the Company’s strategic growth initiatives are achieved in a compliant manner under the guidance of the Senior Vice President of Compliance. This includes the management of compliance activities to ensure requirements and timelines are met, responsibility for ADA, Clery Act and Title IX compliance, and maintenance of a continuous and comprehensive compliance training program.Responsibilities:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, accreditation, and state regulatory standards and requirements
- Maintain a detailed and current schedule/calendar of all compliance activity to include internal audits, initial and renewal regulatory applications, required training, and regulatory reporting and responses
- Manage compliance with Clery Act and Title IX requirements as the Corporate Title IX Coordinator
- Work closely and on a regular basis with Legal on investigations relating to student and/or employee matters
- Assist Campus Title IX Coordinators with prevention efforts and programming
- Provide data management in the following areas: individual case tracking, case file management, annual review of sex discrimination reports, and accurate records of compliance and response efforts.
- Manage compliance with Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as the Corporate ADA Coordinator
- Maintain a comprehensive compliance training program and conduct training to include compliance best practices, regulatory and accreditation standards, Clery Act, campus safety, ADA compliance, Title IX requirements, etc.
- Work with all departments (campus and corporate) on a continual basis regarding policy, procedure, operational standards, compliance, and best practices
- Assignment of other tasks, as applicable and necessary
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the higher education field (preferably in a career school environment) or in another government-regulated industry/profession
- Proficient use of Windows computer systems and various other software or student information systems such as CampusVue, etc.
- Effective written, oral communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to read and interpret complex laws and regulations and articulate clearly with diverse groups of people/stakeholders, both internal and external
- Strong organizational skills - takes ownership of tasks, projects, goals, etc.
- Strong critical thinking skills – uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Experience providing education, training, and/or outreach programming to diverse audiences
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential issues which require independent judgment and discretion, and maintain strict confidentiality of privileged information
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to travel up to 25 percent
