Purpose of Position: Responsible for reviewing and approving resident certifications for affordable housing programs and assisting the Compliance Director with compliance related duties.
Reports to: Compliance Director
Works with: Regional Managers, Area Managers, Assistant Managers, Leasing Staff, Corporate Personnel
Essential Duties:
- Review and approve move-in and recertification files for properties in multiple states
- Correspond with on-site staff professionally through phone calls and emails
- Provide support to on-site staff for compliance related requests
- Maintain status reports for property recertifications
- Data entry to state compliance reports
- Request files for lender and state agency audits and obtain corrections
- Assist with on-site file audits for all properties and obtain corrections as needed
- Obtain utility company estimates and assist with updating utility allowances annually
- Provide on-site staff with file processing assistance as needed
- Complete acquisition related compliance duties as needed
- Attend scheduled compliance meetings and trainings
- Assist requests and tasks from the Compliance Director as needed
Essential Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Math skills: ability to complete addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, averages, and percentage calculations
- Computer skills: experience with emphasis on MS Office, Outlook, and Onesite
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience with Section 42 tax credit, HUD, HOME, and other affordable housing programs
- Extensive knowledge of Section 42 policies and procedures
- Section 42 tax credit certifications preferred
- College degree and/or commensurate work experience

The duties of this position are usually performed in an office/indoor setting. The employee may be exposed to fluctuating outdoor temperatures and other weather conditions while moving from one location to another. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and use hands or fingers to complete job duties. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. 40+ hour a week position. Local and overnight travel required.
