Job Description:

What you will do:

The position is responsible for supporting the compliance risk management programs relevant to one or more Business Units. The position is responsible for day-to-day compliance program activities under the supervision of an Associate Director, Director and/or AVP. The position may provide direct support for the Financial Crimes Program, Privacy Program and Regulatory Compliance Management Program. This includes support for regulatory examinations, Internal Audits or other regulatory matters as appropriate. The position may provide support for internal and external reporting.

  • Collect documentation related to Market Conduct exams, Internal Audits or other regulatory matters.
  • Provides direct support to the AML controls program
  • Supports the BUCO and team in providing a comprehensive monitoring program related to regulatory risks and controls.
  • Conduct routine transactional activities and administration of Compliance Programs (e.g., complaint handling, privacy incident reporting, AML alert monitoring).
  • Participates, under supervision, in annual risk based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls.
  • Maintain familiarity with company risk management policies and procedures.
  • Participate in compliance projects as needed.
  • Contribute to and maintain management records and reports as needed.
  • Encourage, promote and enhance a culture that supports the Code of Conduct, encourages ethical behaviour and a commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Adhere to Sun Life policies and procedures to maintain effective compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team oriented setting.
  • Strong communication (written and oral), research and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer and database skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.


Required education and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, professional certificate, or equivalent work experience.
  • 0 - 2 years of relevant experience

If you are a Colorado resident, the minimum starting salary for this position will be $43,000 annually. Sun Life will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications and experience.
