Job Description

Position: Communications and Social Media Coordinator

Time Commitment: Part-time (exempt) 20 hours/per week, some evenings and weekends

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Summary

The Communications and Social Media Coordinator serves as a key member of the Programs and Philanthropy teams, working with and supporting the entire organization.

Communications:

  • Support short- and long-term communications goals, and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Determine ideal communications channels and tactics for promoting campaigns, publicizing events, broadening audiences, and strengthening BACC’s brand.
  • Coordinate photography and video support at BACC functions, workshops, and events.
  • Organize BACC’s video, photography, and client quotes/stories bank.
  • Support strategies to increase engagement from internal teams, network partners, and the larger community.

Writing, Editing, and Collateral Production:

  • Design and produce collateral materials for all departments (such as flyers, brochures, cards, posters, etc.); coordinate with designers as needed.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Task Force to support content development across the organization; draft, review, and edit print and online content as necessary for media, public education and community outreach, fundraising, and other purposes.

Digital Communications:

  • Utilize BACC’s social media platforms as brand amplifiers and instruments of outreach, including content and performance monitoring for all social media channels, and the creation and implementation of an editorial calendar.
  • Update the content and design of BACC’s website consistent with our brand vision.

Communications Admin:

· Work with Director of Programs and Services and Director of Philanthropy on the design and purchase process for BACC swag for program and philanthropy activities.

· Serve as main BACC contact for all printers, production companies, etc. Get bids for all print projects (program and development).

· Support volunteers helping with communications and outreach projects.

Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

· At least 5 years’ relevant work experience in communications, organizing, outreach and/or campaign work, including experience with email communications, events, social media, website management, and earned media.

· Strong creative writing skills and the ability to build a cohesive narrative, including experience writing in different voices, for different audiences, and in varying lengths.

· Strong proficiency with social media platforms and online community building.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels, both inside and outside of the organization.

· Disciplined and able to work effectively in independent and team contexts.

· Proven ability to prioritize tasks, make sound decisions, and track and complete diverse assignments.

· Strong technical proficiency with CRM technology, WordPress and basic HTML, MS Office Suite, including Excel & PowerPoint; Adobe Design Suite, significant experience with Google Analytics.

· Self-motivated with a talent for delivering outstanding work in an entrepreneurial way and able to gracefully navigate competing deadlines and priorities.

· Sense of humor.

· A strong understanding of, and passion for, BACC’s work and an ability to communicate the mission effectively to a variety of audiences, including clients, volunteers, donors, community-based organizations, funders, and the general public.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
This position is currently a remote position, but in the future will be hybrid with hours split between the office, home, and on the road with BACC’s Mobile Resource Center.
