Job Title: Communications and PR Manager
Department: Marketing
Supervisor Title: Director of Marketing Status: Exempt
General Summary: The Communications and PR Manager is responsible for the development of the Vetsource communications strategy, spanning both internal and external audiences. You will work closely with marketing leadership and other stakeholders across the company to ensure all of our customer and partner facing announcements and communications are compelling and delivered appropriately. You will also drive internal communications efforts to support brand and marketing alignment across Vetsource.
Essential Duties:
- Build an external communications strategy for the company that includes amplifying the Vetsource brand and a regular cadence of public facing news/stories.
- Collaborate across the company to ensure a unified voice for all Vetsource external communications and to identify opportunities to tell the Vetsource story.
- Write press releases, announcements, and corporate communications.
- Support executive communications as needed.
- Lead internal media training and the creation of an internal speaker’s bureau.
- Serve as the point of contact for internal communications related to brand and marketing initiatives.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on effective storytelling that leverages the Vetsource value proposition.
- Manage outside communications partners as necessary.
- Track metrics and results on executed communications deliverables and initiatives; prepare executive level reporting on all communications.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience developing and implementing communications strategies related to multiple product lines and audiences.
- Communications leadership role in a B2B2C company and ability to develop communications for both business and consumer audiences.
- Demonstrated success in high growth environments.
- Outstanding writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to balance/prioritize many projects at once and stay on deadline.
- Highly detail oriented.
- Experience managing external resources.
- Ability to work with minimal direction on projects.
- Work as part of a team within the department and the entire organization
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 8 years experience in a communications role either at an in-house department or agency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Animal health industry experience
- In-house communications experience in a rapidly growing company
Working conditions:
- Ability to adapt and self-direct in response to changing needs and deadlines
- Tolerance for an environment where dogs may be present (office areas only)
