Job summary:
The REV Group Commodity Manager - Plastics, Chemicals, Coatings role will be focused on the management of all activities associated with assigned commodities and services. This position will provide full commodity leadership, working closely with multiple business units, developing strategies and coordinating all related supply chain activities to ensure that cost and value-added requirements are met. This position will ensure business unit program participation, adherence to, and acceptance of, agreed upon strategic sourcing initiatives associated with various commodities/spend groups. Additionally, this position will proactively monitor and evaluate specific market conditions and develop strategic countermeasures as required.
Responsibilities:
- Execute enterprise wide and local sourcing events to implement cost savings.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities.
- Evaluate market conditions and negotiate material prices based on commodity prices going up and down.
- Implement commodity strategies across multiple business units.
- Negotiate, draft and implement supplier agreements/contracts.
- Evaluate suppliers’ core competencies and performance ability.
- Lead Supplier Selection process for assigned commodities.
- Formulate strategy to mitigate price increase requests.
- Support business units with supplier issues that need to be escalated.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships and drive performance improvements
Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):
- BS degree: preferably in supply chain or engineering
- 5+ years supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
- APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience implementing projects across multiple locations and brands.
- Moderate travel required
- Solid awareness of operations and business processes.
- Passion for change and continuous improvement, must be self-motivated, have initiative, and have a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated high-performance levels and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Team management skills and the capability to lead change
