Commercial Refrigeration Technician

We are searching for an HVAC Refrigeration Technician in the Richmond and Northern Virginia area that will be responsible for HVAC/Refrigeration related equipment maintenance and service work, responsible for inspecting, maintaining, installing and repairing commercial and industrial type air conditioning, refrigeration and heating systems.

What you will do -

• Service commercial refrigeration equipment and systems to include walk-in coolers, freezers, small self-contained equipment, reach-ins, etc.
• Inspect systems and their components (e.g. air conditioning, heating and refrigeration units, etc.) to ensure safety and identify necessary repairs and provide an ongoing program of preventive maintenance
• Communicates with customers regarding status of repair or maintenance being performed or needed on equipment
• Order and install replacement parts as needed
• Understands commercial kitchen equipment and able to diagnose repairs needed
• Must be able to install, repair, adjust, maintain and troubleshoot commercial equipment including refrigerant controls (metering devices); compressors; Split systems from 2 to 4 tons, electric motor controls (contractors, starters, relays, disconnect, thermostats, etc.)
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and procedures for all food service and refrigeration equipment, including changing filters and cleaning condensers and coils
• Communicate with Dispatch to ensure completion of scheduled job

What you need to qualify –

• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Active EPA Universal CFC certificate
• 3 years experience in commercial refrigeration
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 70 pounds
• Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changed in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases
• Requires extensive daily travel to different customer locations
• Exposure to varying temperatures including outside elements and customer kitchens
