Under the supervision of the Insurance Follow up Manager, this position is responsible for training employees to perform accurate and timely follow up of Commercial and Senior Managed care claims. The Supervisor will serve as a resource on hospital computer systems and Contract specific regulations. The Supervisor assists with follow up, assists with report analysis and review, and reviews correspondence or other projects as assigned assuring corrective action is done. Meet and exceed the minimum productivity volume, and standards of work as defined within the departmental policies and procedures


Required Skills

Demonstrated ability to use a 10-key adding machine, calculator, fax machine, photocopy machine keyboard for data entry and personal computer (PC). Ability to perform multiple tasks, good mathematical skills, sound decision making abilities and good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to learn new systems, become proficient in development of reports via hospital systems and tools provided, proficient in excel and word document for appeal submission to payers.


Required Experience

High school graduate required. Two years’ college preferred. Minimum three years of hospital billing and follow up required. Knowledge of hospital billing requirements and regulations. Evidence of continuing education preferred. Familiarity with Commercial third party and Government billing requirements.
