BUILDINGS NEED MICROGRIDS!
Businesses in California are challenged by a prolonged wildfire season, unpredictable service and demanding clean energy standards. Adding to that, the costs associated with aging and outdated utility infrastructure will ultimately be passed to customers. Whether the motivation be cost savings, resiliency, or carbon reduction, the market is primed for a timely solution. However, because of the lack of simple financing, due to operational and maintenance costs, and due to large capital expenditure requirements, few companies have successfully integrated Microgrids into their operations. Instant ON is here to change this.
RESILIENCY IS THE NEW PARADIGM!
While sustainability and cost efficiency used to be key, more businesses have begun to realize the imminent need to become resilient now. Amidst this pandemic, millions of homes and businesses have experienced power outages, whether due to brownouts from our antiquated grid or because of fire and natural disaster related Public Safety Power Shutoffs. How long can a community last without power? How much financial loss will be incurred each fire season? This is the new abnormal.
COMPANIES NEED A PLUG-AND-PLAY SOLUTION!
Solar, without batteries, does nothing to protect against power outages. Customers on net metering, without a microgrid, are not off grid. Solar generates power during the time of day when utilities need it least, resulting in expensive rate schedules for power usage whenever the sun is down. Customers are demanding energy storage. In the past, Microgrids have been too complex to install. Prices had been artificially kept high by the main brand names such as LG, Tesla, Eguana, and Sonnen. With the Instant ON solution, customers need not worry about the details. We are here to make it simpler.
THE SOLUTION: ENERGY AS A SERVICE (EAAS)THROUGH THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY ACTION PROGRAM
In October, GreenStruxure, a joint venture between Schneider Electric and Huck Capital, launched the California Energy Action Program, to help California businesses meet the immediate needs of Californian building owners and operators for cost-effective, resilient, and sustainable energy solutions. Schneider Electric's GreenStruxure launched in September 2020 to deliver modular, standardized Energy as a Service solutions to commercial and industrial medium-sized buildings. GreenStruxure is simplifying and accelerating the market adoption of renewable energy microgrids, offering an innovative outcome-based alternative for building owners and operators who want sustainable, cost-effective, resilient, onsite energy delivered to them hassle-free as a service, with no upfront capital expenses or operational risks.

WHAT IS ENERGY AS A SERVICE (EaaS):
Through Energy as a Service, customers have no upfront capital expenses, no risk, and do not have to worry about operational and maintenance issues. Customers pay for the performance of the system out of their operating budget already allocated to the cost of electricity. In exchange, customers acquire a microgrid which provides predictable and long-term savings, sustainable power, and resiliency. Through EaaS, customers with utility costs of $35,000/month, or about $400,000/year in electricity, find energy solutions to prepare for future wildfire and climate events, manage rising energy costs and enable more energy independence. The Energy as a Service program is ideal for hospitals, universities, cold storage facilities, manufacturing facilities, distribution warehouses, data centers, large hotels, large agriculture operations, and more.
