AutoNation is NOW HIRING COLLISION ESTIMATORS to work in our busy, state-of-the-art Auto Body Repair Center! We are seeking an experienced Collision Writer to assist with managing the workflow from our various DRP accounts, walk-in customers, and dealership inventory repairs. Candidates will have previous experience working in a dealer/ independently owned repair facility and will have a strong understanding of the customer repair lifecycle. Our ideal Estimator will be able to jump right in appraising damage like a pro with experience and familiarity operating industry-specific software like CCC, Mitchell, and Profit Net. AutoNation’s Writers provide our customers assistance with the repair process “start-to-finish”, acting as a liaison between the customer and their insurance provider from the moment the vehicle arrives at our shop for an estimate. Our Collision Estimators have an entrepreneurial spirit and work with a competitive edge while understanding the necessity of providing a high level of service to our customers in their time of need.

Who Would I Interact With?
The Collision Estimator position interacts daily with Customers, Insurance Claims Representatives, Damage Appraisers, Vendors, Collision Management, Collision Technicians, Technician Helpers, Painters, Parts Associates, Detailers, Service Advisors, Mechanics, Accounting Clerks, Sales Managers, Recon Managers, Receptionists, and other corporate/remote AutoNation associates to name a few.
What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
- Greet each customer in the process of getting a vehicle repaired
- Prepare all damage estimates and supplements in a timely manner; accurately negotiating repair costs prior to work being performed on the vehicle
- Obtain all signatures, work authorizations, and power-of-attorneys needed from patrons to authorize repairs
- Order replacement parts needed for repairs and third-party vendor services as needed
- Collect insurance deductibles and/or payment from the customer or insurance provider prior to vehicle pick up
- Review all final bills and supplements for accuracy prior to delivery of the vehicle
- Perform a quality control check on the completed vehicle to check quality and thoroughness
- Make every effort to satisfy the customer's needs regarding their automotive repair experience
- Explain why AutoNation’s experience and customer service makes us the best choice for their automotive repair
What are the requirements for this job?
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- I-CAR Certification (preferred)
- Previous experience working in an auto body repair facility
- Working knowledge of repairing damaged body parts and vehicle frames after collision
- Experience using industry-specific software (CCC-1, Mitchell, Profit Net, etc.)
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years collision repair and estimating experience
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented and well-organized
- Consistent and stable work history
- Current and valid U.S. issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Professional appearance and work ethic when dealing with the public and staff alike
- Ability to read, comprehend instructions and information
- Ability to operate and drive an automobile, automatic and manual (preferred, but not necessary)

Pay: $65,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
