Job Description

This position exists to provide assistance to nursing faculty in the Practical Nursing and Associates Degree nursing programs during lab and simulation experiences. Under the supervision of the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health, the CLA1 will also facilitate utilization of learning aids and resources available in the simulation centers for students. The applicant (the employee) should demonstrate a knowledge of and interest in diver cultures and populations.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary or industry certificate/diploma/degree or relevant licensure in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of college goals and Ridgewater College's mission, vision and guiding principles.
  • Knowledge of nursing programs.
  • Knowledge of nursing communications, English as a Second Language, computer skills, study skills, etc.
  • Communication skills (verbal, written) are essential.
  • Ability to work independently in assisting students with lab resources.
  • Knowledge of students support services such as career development and educational planning.
  • Ability to work with administration, faculty, staff and agencies.
  • Knowledge of the ADA and other legal and privacy issues.
  • Post secondary degree.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb/balance.
  • The position may also require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (MnSCU) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MnSCU’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
