Job Description

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Student Recruitment, the Coordinator of Recruitment & Enrollment Administration will play a critical role in reaching College for Social Innovation’s (CFSI) exciting and ambitious student enrollment goals.

The Coordinator will employ a variety of virtual and in-person tactics to help facilitate CFSI’s strategic management of the student recruitment, admissions, and enrollment processes. Primarily, they will help support a portfolio of college and university partnerships, including by supporting the administration of the alumni Ambassador program; conducting market research to strengthen a student-centered and evidence-informed recruitment and marketing strategy; and providing marketing and administrative support to improve our recruitment efforts and ensure efficient enrollment operations.

While specific tactics will vary according to organizational need and individual availability/preference, the Coordinator’s responsibilities will likely include overseeing a small remote campus; conducting market research; compiling and sharing findings with the recruitment/marketing and program teams to help us conduct authentic and effective outreach; participating in virtual and in-person recruitment events (e.g. information sessions, 1-1 chats, interviews, alumni panels); and working to establish strong relationships with students and campus champions, such as professors, deans and student groups, to promote our credit-bearing internships and education program.

This is a fantastic entry-level part-time opportunity for someone interested in the fields of recruitment and admissions, marketing, student affairs, or general higher education and nonprofit work. As a part-time role, hours will vary and much of the work can be done remotely. At the conclusion of the position term (May 2023) there is potential for the individual hired for this position to grow into a full-time role, depending on performance and interest.

There may be a need for occasional travel to college campuses and an opportunity to work from the CFSI headquarters when convenient and as arranged with your supervisor. Availability for occasional early evening work is preferred. For example, there may be a few evening info sessions throughout the semester. While a Boston-based location is preferred, strong candidates who are interested in a fully remote position will be considered. Applicants will be considered on a rolling basis.

College for Social Innovation (CFSI) brings together colleges and social sector organizations to create fully-credited experiential learning opportunities that are meaningful, accessible, and life-changing. Our college students, referred to as Social Innovation Fellows, build skills, a digital portfolio, and a professional network that helps to position them to become the next generation of problem solvers for humanity’s tough challenges. Students are placed in a semester-long internship (400 hours) and also take skill-building and reflection classes twice a week as part of a diverse “Semester in the City” cohort.

College for Social Innovation is now completing a two-year pilot of its Semester in the City program, having enrolled almost 100 students from six colleges and universities and achieved strong initial results. We are looking to further build an innovative and unique educational experience that can add value for students and their home colleges while building a bigger, better, and more diverse talent pipeline for the social sector.

In the next three to five years, we look to create a nationally recognized curriculum and instructional delivery model that generates strong results while growing to serve 350+ students per year and preparing for potential growth beyond Boston. Ultimately, we aim to build a movement to make it common for millions of college students - representing the full diversity of the nation - to gain access to careers in the fast-growing social sector. During their Semester in the City, Fellows participate in well-structured and academically-accredited internships where they learn from real-world experiences, build relationships with mentors, and build personal, professional and academic skills.
