GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Coding Assistant provides support services to Revenue Cycle Management department while learning and advancing their knowledge related to Revenue Cycle.
REPORTS TO: Revenue Cycle Manager
RESPONSIBILIITES:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide administrative support to Revenue Cycle Management department
- Maintain Charge Entry I hospital logs and reconciliation
- Maintain Charge Entry II charge reconciliation
- Maintain Returned Charges Log and manage returned charges tracking and communication. Sends monthly report to managers on pending returned charges
- Assists in preparing audits via medical record pulls and reporting
- Performs MIPS reconciliation and attestations
- Performs departmental analysis and tracking as assigned
- Assists with Charge Entry II coding as needed
- Assists with Site Manager Work Driver billing utility as needed
- Assist Administrative Assistant with front door duties as needed
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Revenue Cycle Manager
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required; 1-2 years medical secretary/assistant experience required; Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Coding Assistants must have excellent customer service skills, strong initiative, ability to work well independently, and be able to work with co-workers, physicians, and visitors in a courteous and respectful manner.

- Provide a high level of quality customer service at all times.
- Maintain composure and display a professional and helpful attitude
- Communicate clearly with coworkers through the telephone, email, and in-person.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment; travel within the Metro area required
