CNC Programmer

Royal Custom Designs manufacturing facility in Chino California. Founded in 1970, the company has established itself as one of the leading furniture manufacturers in the Hospitality industry worldwide.

Royal Custom Designs is looking to hire a CNC Programmer/Operator that operates 3 and 5 axis milling machines to cut raw wood and sheet stock into furniture components. Will also perform test runs and make adjustments until the resulting product meets production specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Translate the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for production
• Perform proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories to be used on projects
• Ensure that every machine procedure is done in accordance with the strict guidelines of the company
• Follow all company safety protocol
• Inspect the work area and machines that were used during the day prior to leaving at the end of each shift
• Attend and actively participate in training classes and safety sessions
• Program and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, routing, milling etc.
• Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
• Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
• Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
• Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts
• Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
• Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
• Machine maintenance, which includes cleaning, oil levels, and operator PM’s

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 2+ years’ experience using milling machinery
• Extensive knowledge of machine maintenance and operation required
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
• Proven history of working with gauges and calipers
• Proven experience as a CNC programmer/operator preferred.
• Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
• Computer savvy with a basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
• A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
• Good communication abilities
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Familiar with Mastercam X5 & X8, AutoCAD
• Experience in Programming with Mastercam.
• Familiar with Smart Pro
• Easy wood program.
• Familiar with Fanuc and Osai controls
