Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide CMM support to the plant to achieve optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity and delivery to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS
Reports directly to the Quality Manager. Interfaces on a frequent basis with Tool & Die, Production and Engineering. Interfaces on an as needed basis with IT, Materials, Finance, Human Resources and Corporate Quality and Dimensional Engineering.
LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Duties include but are not limited to: stand, walk, twist, bend, lift, see, talk, and hear. May be required to travel. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration and hazardous materials.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Company''s mission, vision, values and goals in the performance of daily activities.
- Conduct part layouts and capability studies to assure parts meet or exceed dimensional requirements of the customer.
- Maintain the calibration systems in Mainsaver/Gage Trak system.
- Maintain calibration and certification records.
- Maintain gauges in good working order.
- Establish and maintain annual part/gauge layout schedules.
- Evaluate CMM data for accuracy, prior to submission.
- Prepare reports for internal and external customers and interface as appropriate.
- Write CMM programs.
- Maintain CMM & CMM software in good working order.
- Participate in team problem solving activities.
- Provide CMM data for sample part submission.
- Interface with customers, contractors and suppliers as appropriate.
- Participate in root cause analysis and team problem solving activities (ex. 8D reports, department meetings, etc.).
- Support plant activities towards achieving customer awards and Quality Registrations (ex. IATF, ISO 14001, Pentastar, etc.)
- Assist with plant activities to achieve quality, productivity and cost reduction goals.
- Comply with all internal and OSHA required safety procedures while performing daily work activities.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work area.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all areas of the organization.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ex. Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II Procedures etc.)

- Ability to identify, select, train and coach quality talent.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum two to five years experience as a CMM programmer/operator in PCDMIS.
- General knowledge of Quality Systems (i.e.; SPC, ISO/IATF etc.)
- Experience in calibration methods and use of measuring tools.
- Technical math skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- Root cause/ problem solving ability.
- Good understanding of GD&T.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast paced team environment.
- Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations.
