Your Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for Cloud Architects to become part of our IBM Cloud for Financial Services Team. As an Architect on this team, you will bring innovative thinking and industry knowledge of financial markets to address our client’s business demands. You will work with Financial Services companies to envision transformation, build, and monetize new Cloud-based Fintech solutions by providing tools, technology, training, and programs to share financial services expertise.
The candidate will have 5 or more years of experience in a customer-facing, consultative technical sales or professional services organization. Also, the candidate will have 5 or more years hands on experience architecting, implementing, and supporting a broad range of workloads in Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) clouds. The successful candidate will be able to develop strategies for and assist customers in the design and technical buildout of the infrastructure, applications, and management of the environments on the IBM Cloud.
The Cloud Architect will develop innovative financial services-based designs that support regulated workloads with automated security and industry-leading encryption services that meet the complex set of client requirements across public, private and hybrid cloud models.
You will actively develop and progress cloud opportunities working with the IBM Sales teams. Deliver solution workshops, product demonstrations, technical education, Proofs of Concept and help customers on their early adoption of these cloud solutions.
This is a technical, hands-on customer facing role. Candidates must have the ability to earn the trust of customers and partners at any level, from executive to developer. We're looking for builders to help us innovate the future of IBM cloud computing. Candidates for the job should possess excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to efficiently multi-task

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5+ years solution design experience working with public, private and hybrid cloud models in the Financial Services sector.
- 5+ years of experience in a customer facing consultative technical sales or professional services organization working with teams to translate business goals into reliable Cloud based technical solutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven track record of building consensus across diverse groups of stakeholders.
- Tackle challenges with a solutions-oriented, systems thinking approach.
- Ability to drive progress independently as well as problem solve collaboratively.
- Ability to be flexible and thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Solid understanding of IBM Cloud Computing Services (IaaS and PaaS).
- 5+ years of experience on Cloud Infrastructure technologies (E.g., Virtual private cloud, local and global load balancer as a service, DNS, object storage, block storage, cloud network connectivity, encryption technologies, etc.)
- Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Microservices, API’s.
- Knowledge and experience with Terraform/Ansible/Chef/Puppet and automating infrastructure in a cloud environment.
- Working knowledge of DEVOPS and tooling
- IBM Cloud Databases as a service (PostgreSQL, EnterprisDB, IBM Db2, Cloudant, MongoDB, REDIS, Elasticsearch)
- VMware VCF/VCS, NSX, Caveonix, Veeam, Zerto
- Certifications: Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration/RedHat OpenShift Operator Certification, Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
