We provide innovative and compassionate services to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Residential/Outpatient Treatment Facilities and Community Programs.
Clinical Supervisor (OP)
Schedule per week: Monday - Friday Evening Shifts (3 days) and Day Shifts (2 days)
Location: Paterson/Paramus, NJ
Job Summary:
A Clinical Supervisor is responsible for supervising and monitoring the work of the counselors who report to him/her and ensuring that the clients on their supervisees’ caseloads receive high-quality substance abuse treatment services. They are also responsible for ensuring that their supervisee’s meet all of Straight & Narrow’s personnel requirements and for assuming other responsibilities that may fall under the purview of the supervisory team. Clinical Supervisor will cover supervisees in two locations Paterson and Paramus, NJ.
Position Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision both group and individual to:
Counselor(s) and/or Counselor Interns in the Paterson and Paramus location
2. Ensure the following for all supervisee’s
- All required annual trainings are completed and documented in their personnel files
- Any competency-based training determined by counselors’ individual needs is completed and documented in their personnel files
- Progress toward obtaining CADC/LCADC is monitored and documented in their personnel files quarterly
- Plan of supervision for all counselor interns must be completed immediately upon hire. Forward originals to the NJ Consumer Affairs and a copy to HR, the counselor intern and a copy to be kept in your clinical supervisor binder.
- Any new degrees, certifications or re-certifications are monitored and documented in their personnel files annually
- Any required medical information and/or test(s) is/are completed and documented in their personnel files
- Performance Evaluations are done at 90 days and annually by supervisee and filed in supervisee’s Personnel file
- Job Descriptions are reviewed at the time of the annual Performance Evaluation, updated, signed and filed in supervisee’s personnel file
3. Approve Paid Time Off (PTO) and sick days for all supervisees in Paylocity
4. Ensure that all counselor-supervisees receive a minimum of one-hour of
individual supervision and one hour of group supervision biweekly
5. Ensure that all non-counselor-supervisees receive supervision in accordance
with the agency’s policy for that job category. All supervision must be documented
6. Maintain a Clinical Supervisor binder, physical and electronic, per supervisee. This binder must be up to date and available for state and licensing inspections
In consultation with direct supervisor (and/or Program Director), recommend disciplinary action of all supervisees whose inadequate performance or inappropriate behavior as defined in Straight & Narrow’s warrants such an action. Terminations are approved by Human Resources only.
7. Participate in the screening, interviewing and selection of new counselors when assigned by supervisor
8. Ensure that all clients on counselor-supervisee’s caseloads are reviewed at a
Multidisciplinary Treatment Team meeting in accordance with assigned schedule.
9. Ensure that supervisee’s documentation is reviewed, logged and up-to-date in
clients’ electronic and physical files in accordance with guidelines of Straight & Narrow and its regulating agencies
- Ensure that all of supervisees’ clients’ files are completely in order for each
scheduled DMHAS inspection and are maintained at an inspection-ready
level at all times
- Facilitate regular schedule of group supervision(s) as assigned by direct
supervisor or Program Director.
- Be familiar with the case of each client on supervisee’s caseload and ensure that
any indicated psychiatric, case management or medical services are provided
Delivery of direct services to clients
- Ensure that clients on caseloads of all counselor-supervisee’s receive all
scheduled and as-needed treatment services when counselor is absent from the
agency either by providing them directly or coordinating with
Clinical Director to assign another qualified staff member
2. Schedule and facilitate case conferences and client interventions for clients on
supervisee’s caseloads as needed
3. Facilitate regular schedule of client didactics and treatment groups as assigned
by Supervisor or Program Director
Documentation
1. Ensure that each individual and group supervision provided for supervisees is
documented and signed by both supervisee and self or other provider of
supervision.
2. Ensure that case conferences, client interventions and MDT’s of all supervisees’
clients are documented and filed in the client’s file.
3. Ensure that documentation of any treatment provided directly to client(s) is
documented and filed in compliance with the agency’s policy.
4. Follow all Electronic Health Records (EHR) policies.
Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Social Work, counseling Human Services or Psychology with an LCADC, and a LPC or LCSW, minimum of two years’ experience in the field of addictions treatment are required. Experience in Medically Assisted Treatment and CCS preferred but not required.
