Position description
This position will serve Employee and Community Health as a member of the Integrated Behavioral Health team providing clinical social work services to meet the comprehensive psychosocial needs of the patient.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, provides psychotherapy, coordinates patient discharge planning, complies with required standards for medical/legal responsibilities, and serves as a resource to other allied and administrative staff within the section of Social Work and the Department of Nursing.
Qualifications
Social worker with current licensure at the clinical level and eligible to practice independently. An MSW degree is also required from an accredited Social Work program.
Additional qualifications
Experience with individual and group therapy preferred. Skills in creating relationships and rapport with medical teams and other allied health staff a must. Clinical diagnostic skills and the ability to utilize evidenced based psychotherapy skills are required. This position is also responsible to provide general social work support and intervention to a primary care patient population. Staff must be flexible due to uncertainty of day to day demands. Comfort in completing safety assessments and triaging patient care needs are also necessary to this position.
Candidates must have an advanced knowledge of mental illness, personality development, knowledge of the types of treatment, and skills in conducting individual, group, and family therapy. Must have knowledge of adjustment to medical diagnosis' and chronic disease. Strong communication skills are needed to interact with patients, patient's family members, multi-disciplinary team, community agencies, and other resources. Must also have psychosocial diagnostic skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and in written form.
License or certification
Licensure to practice independently at the clinical level as required by applicable state requirements. Valid driver's license required for specific specialty areas.
