Job Description

Position Summary

To conduct and understand all study activities in accordance with the protocol, IRB regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). To manage the life cycle of the clinical trial from study start-up through trial maintenance to study closure. To coordinate and organize patient care including recruitment, screening, scheduling, consenting, conducting visits, and collecting various assessments such as adverse event (AE) information or questionnaires.

This position is research focused utilizing RN skills and talents under the research protocol. All research is performed in an exercise facility with biospecimen collection and processing.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops study source documentation and performs the informed consent process following GCP.
  • Performs general nursing duties and manages site supplies.
  • Maintains a working nursing knowledge of the department's specialty, draft documents or policies, collect records, and assist with the preparation of data for publication.
  • Maintains clinical records and documentation and assists with the development of documents related to patient safety and security.
  • Performs and assists in routine and complex clinical procedures as required by the protocol with the collection, processing, and maintaining of lab specimens.
  • May serve as a resource person within the area of clinical expertise.
  • Uses the electronic medical record (EMR) as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $27.85 - $36.20


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirements. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills

  • RN, preferably with several years of experience.
  • Will need to be flexible with start times as we start as early as 6 am some mornings.
  • Efficient in venipuncture, IV insert and draw, EKG, GXT, and CPR certified or willing to become CPR certified.
  • Someone with fitness or well-being passion is a plus.
