Job Description

Clinical Research Coordinator

- (3190393)

Kate Bentley, PhD (Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School), Evan Kleiman (Rutgers University), and Matthew Nock (Harvard University) are seeking applications for a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator to coordinate and administer studies aimed at leveraging mobile technologies to improve the understanding and prevention of suicidal behavior among adults hospitalized on a psychiatric inpatient unit. This position is particularly well-suited for anyone interested in pursuing graduate study in the fields of psychology, medicine, or public health. Opportunities may exist to contribute to academic presentations (e.g., posters) and manuscripts for publication.

Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities include participation in all phases of the research process: literature reviews; IRB preparation and correspondence; recruitment and screening of potential participants; interfacing with clinical staff; assisting study interventionists with the logistics of study visits; configuring and troubleshooting data collection platforms; and data collection, entry, and management. The Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for recruitment and follow-up of participants in two studies that take place at the MGH. The Clinical Research Coordinator will be primarily based at the MGH and work under the supervision of Drs. Bentley, Kleiman, and Nock. Given the responsibilities of interacting with clinically severe/suicidal subjects and supervising undergraduate and volunteer Clinical Research Coordinators, strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential. Prior research or clinical experience with clinically severe/suicidal patients is strongly preferred.

Additional Information: This position is beginning Summer 2022. We request a resume, names of references, and a cover letter outlining your reasons for applying and the strengths you would bring to the position.

Basic Qualifications:
One year related experience preferred.

A Bachelor’s degree in psychology (or related field) and previous clinical psychological research experience (especially with clinical populations) is strongly preferred. You must be able to work independently and in a highly organized way with minimal supervision, but also function well as part of a team. Prior experience with data management and statistical software (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics, R) is highly desirable.
