SCHEDULE: PRN/Per Diem

SCHEDULE: 0.001 FTE (PRN-Per Diem) SHIFT: As Needed
POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical supplies according to established operational and chemical procedures as prescribed by the hospital’s physicians and other qualified personnel. Reviews prescriptions, obtains clarifications as necessary, and regularly consults with Medical Staff, Nursing, and others in order to coordinate delivery of high quality pharmaceutical services to patients.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

One year hospital or equivalent experience required. Residency preferred.


LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Current and valid license as a registered pharmacist in the state of California.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Communication – communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other hospital personnel

Judgment – Makes decisions based upon job knowledge and experience. Considers all impacted areas in decision process. Seeks advice where applicable. Judgment sensible and reliable.

Interpersonal Skills – able to work effectively with other employees, patients and external parties

PC Skills – demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office, Meditech, and purchasing vendor applications and others as required

Policies and Procedures – articulates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems

Basic Skills – able to perform mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately
