Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will participate in planning, organizing, and evaluation of patient care in the Intensive Care Units and the Emergency Department under the guidance and supervision of the Vice President of Nursing. This position helps to develop and maintain high quality, evidence-based care through education and training to achieve optimal patient outcomes and a high level of patient satisfaction. This position supports the nursing team and fosters a strong relationship with the leadership, medical staff, and employees.

M ini m um E du ca ti o n Re qui reme nt :
Master’s Degree required within 6 months of hire.

M i n i m um E x p er i e n c e Re qui reme nt :
Previous experience as a CNS preferred. 2 years of experience with critical care and/or emergency services preferred. Neuro critical care experience preferred. Excellent customer service skills required.

M ini m um Li ce n s e Re qui reme nt :
California RN license. BLS required. ACLS, PALS, and National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale Certification "A” required within 3 months of hire/transfer. Assaultive Behavior Training Certification that meets AB508 and SB1299 required within 30 days of hire/transfer. New hires that have completed Assaultive Behavior training outside of Emanate Health will be required to complete. Emanate Health Work Place Violence online awareness module within 30 days of hire/transfer. Licensed as CNS in California preferred. Certification in area of specialty preferred. Annual 8 hours of Stroke Education.
