What You Will Do:
The Clinical Manager provides direction and supervision for daily operations of Electrophysiology Lab Services. Advocates for and allocates available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe and compassionate care based on standards of care. Encourages shared decision making among staff members that supports effective problem resolution and a sense of professional autonomy. Creates an environment of accountability that promotes cohesive team- based excellence in care. Oversees that the latest in evidenced based practice is being implemented. Performs designated administrative functions as an integral member of the Heart & Vascular Services management team. This position at Winchester Medical Center, along with serving as a resource and liaison with other Valley Health facilities providing invasive cardiovascular services.
What You Will Bring:
Education
Bachelors Nursing (BSN)
At least three years of experience with progressive management in EP lab(s).
Experience
Three years of experience with progressive management in Cath/EP lab(s) and/or lnterventional Peripheral Vascular Lab(s) and Pre & Post procedural care unit(s) required
Demonstrated leadership skills as well as track record in building programs, staff and physician relationships, productivity and process improvement programs, and database management
Skills in planning, organizing, and managing complex functions and processes.
Certification & Licensures
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in VA or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or a co required
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required*
ACLS Certification required*
Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership skills as well as track record in building programs, staff and physician relationships, productivity and process improvement programs, and database management. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of research and the latest treatments and technology in Electrophysiology. Advocates for physician requested technology that is required to perform the latest in evidenced based treatments. Oversees/manages cost-effective supply inventory. Adjusts supply par levels based on physician usage. Collaborates with purchasing to streamline the usage of supplies and assist with vendor contract negotiations. Works to remove barriers that prevents efficient, smooth-running department operations. Establishes operational protocols/procedures that are evidence based. Evaluates effectiveness of unit operations, quality, and appropriateness of care. Holds staff accountable to adhering to hospital/department policies, promoting cohesive team environment and job standards. Assist staff in professional development, expanding specialty knowledge, certifications and degrees. With the input of staff and physicians, identifies department based performance improvement initiatives. Establishes an avenue of tracking and reporting data that will allow the entire team to review and create process improvement initiatives for achievement of desired goals/outcomes. Collaborates with physician office management team to develop efficient scheduling process that supports patients receiving timely care and efficient department operations. Works cohesively with intradepartmental care providers and support departments to achieve desired operational outcomes. Ensures patient satisfaction targets are achieved. Works in-conjunction with Quality Department to establish quality metrics and improve quality of care. Ensures latest regulatory requirements are being met and maintained. Skills in planning, organizing, and managing complex functions and processes. Critical Thinking and problem-solving skills through interventions with staff to provide quality patient outcomes required Proven results in clinical and operational excellence. Communication skills and developed people skills. Strong analytical background in defining problems and work plans for quality improvement, operational excellence as measured by staff and physician engagement as well as fostering efficiency in care delivery. Ability to liaison with Valley Health and Non-Valley Outlying Hospitals to coordinate care. Experience and training in conflict resolution and change management. Ability to work with vendors to negotiate pricing, as well as to participate in training of staff and to be preferred provider for new products that are FDA approved. Ability to communicate how they have worked with teams to hardwire evidence-based protocols that have increased consistency of care delivery. Team player and able to coordinate with departments that impact the flow of patients being treated in the EP Lab. Staff and Patient Advocate. Must be able to work under stress and maintain professional attitude in dealing with upset or uncooperative patients and in working with all levels of employees and staff members. Must be able to work well under time pressure and deal with multiple simultaneous demands.
