Job Description

ProMedica Toledo Hospital is one of the largest acute-care facilities in the region. The clinical dietitian collaborates with members of the health care team to provide medical nutrition therapy. They identify patients at nutritional risk based on hospital policy then assess their nutritional needs and identify nutrient requirements according to the patients’ age and disease specific needs. The clinical dietitian develops and implements the nutrition care plan for all assigned patients and fosters continuity of care among all phases across the continuum of care. Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions. They also provide nutrition education to patients and family members on appropriate food selections and eating behaviors to accomplish their patients’ goals. The clinical dietitian also participates in performance improvement activities, acts as a resource for dietetic technicians, and mentors dietetics students.


  • Licensed dietitian with the Ohio Board of Dietetics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in dietetics or related field.
  • Registered dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of The American Dietetic Association (ADA).
  • Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations.
  • Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to use the hospital computer system to input and retrieve data.
