Essential Job Functions:
- Engage clients at home, school and in the community in a supportive and helping relationship by eliciting and facilitating their/their family’s choices in meeting their basic needs.
- Perform on-going strengths assessment services and activities which engage the individual/family as an active participant and addresses their strengths, wants, needs, preferences, etc.
- With input from the client, their family and other members of the treatment team develop and document treatment goals and plan related services and activities. Ensure services are appropriately authorized, then monitor and document progress and concerns.
- Assist client/family in maintaining benefits needed to facilitate the rehabilitation process.
- Review client incidents with supervisor and submit written report as outlined in policy and procedure.
- Advocate for client rights and community integration. Preserve dignity and confidentiality of each person on caseload.
- Perform verbal and, if necessary, physical behavior management interventions as outlined in the treatment plan.
- Within scope of knowledge, provide resources and education to the client and their family about mental illness or serious emotional disturbances upon request.
- Meet administrative and clinical documentation requirements both in terms of content and timeliness.
- Meet direct service expectations in terms of type and quantity of services provided as prescribed by management.
- Drive to community settings for the delivery of services and related program needs. This includes transporting the client in a personal or company vehicle.
- Attend and actively participate in clinical supervision and program staffing. Provide input to supervisors and other treatment team members regarding clinical and program issues.
- Enter and maintain clinical schedule in ClaimTrak scheduler.
- Maintain and advance knowledge and skills related specifically to position or to field of work through regular review of pertinent materials or participation in training events as approved by supervisor.
- Adhere to the standards, policies and instructions established by PMHS Policy and Procedure and any applicable ethical codes within field of employment.
- Review and comply with the Pawnee Code of Conduct outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Provide individual, group, and family treatment consistent with treatment plan.
- Provide psycho educational services to the community as assigned by the program supervisor or director.
- Provide in service training to pawnee staff as approved by the program supervisor or director.
- collaborate and consult with the other professionals on behalf of our clients.
- Participate in agency meetings and case consultations as needed or upon request.
- Serve on committees and work groups as requested.
Other Job Functions: - Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other management personnel.
- Depending on office of assignment, may be required to conduct initial evalations of clients mental health and or substance use problems, formulated a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan.
- Participate in clinical supervision in accordance with a supervision plan established with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board.
- Provide clinical supervision toward independent licensing to staff as qualified by licensing and as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: A Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage, and Family Therapy, Counseling or a closely related field is required. Must meet standards of the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board for licensing as:
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or
- Licensed Masters Level Psychologist (LMLP), or
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
A license to practice independently and at least one year experience providing individual or family therapy is strongly preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language required.
Basic personal computer skills which enable the entry, retrieval and use of electronic data required; experience with Microsoft Office software preferred.
A valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance maintained in accordance with Pawnee policy and procedure is required.
Results of criminal and all other applicable background checks must meet the approval of Pawnee Mental Health Services.
