Job Description
Responsible for front office operations. Verify patient demographics and insurance information. Assure completion of intake paperwork. Schedule appointments. Collect co-pays and/or outstanding balances. Other responsibilities may include charge entry, obtaining pre-authorizations and processing referrals. Serve as a liaison between clinic and patient.
Responsibilities
Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments accordingly. Call new patients the day before their scheduled appointment. Mail new patient packets and send letters and document no shows in a timely manner per office procedures. Follow no show policy per office procedures.-
Take accurate messages and enter into Telephone Notes in patient chart in computer/CRM in Epic. Check voice mail messages during the day, as needed.

Collect and post copayments and/or patient due balances. Perform daily close per individual office procedures.

Monitor and file/scan dictation/correspondence as appropriate. Monitor and distribute faxes and assist clinical staff with any clerical duties (filing, faxing, or copying)

Greet clinic patients in a cheerful and professional manner. Direct full attention to patients that are present while verifying and entering patient demographics into computer system/Epic, as well as process their insurance information. Confirm this information at each visit per office procedure, such as A. Copy the insurance card. B. Enter insurance information into computer system (group number, subscriber number, insurance address and phone number) C. Verify insurance eligibility. D. Request and verify referral authorization for appointments

Moving/rescheduling provider office times as needed (i.e. emergencies, vacations, etc.) in computer system/Epic through the provider's template

Schedule return appointments as indicated by provider. As needed, schedule referral appointments, tests (CT scans, MRI's, PET scans, PFT's, etc.) and fax appropriate orders. Obtain precertification for scheduled diagnostic tests. Notify pre-cert coordinator for follow-up.

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent, Required
EXPERIENCE:
6 months medical office experience, Preferred
