Job Description

Clerk III

• Provides secretarial and administrative support to Health and Human Services, Community Services supervisors and community care workers. • Completes reports and tracks assignments. • Maintains confidential files. • Provides excellent customer service in person, over the telephone and via e-mail to internal and external staff, community partners and individuals receiving our services. • Retrieves, files and purges case folders . • Handles incoming/outbound calls for service requests, completes intakes electronically and provides information and referral in a backup role.

Essential Job Functions:
• Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy. • Communicates with others internally or externally to provide, exchange, or verify information, answer inquiries, address issues, or resolve/report problems or complaints. • Enters data in automated systems. • Prepares and proofreads electronic correspondence, forms or other documents. (letters, memorandums, travel or purchase vouchers) • Maintains records, files, or logs (administrative, personnel, correspondence, purchase voucher, travel vouchers). • Provides excellent customer service in person, over the telephone and via e-mail to internal and external staff, community partners and individuals receiving our services. • Completes requests for services and provides information and referral. • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills Abilities:
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. • Ability to organize, set priorities, establish timeframes and meet deadlines. • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers, contract agency staff and staff from other federal or state agencies. • Ability to operate computer and general office equipment. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel, Word and SharePoint. • Ability to work in a professional customer service environment. • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Registration or Licensure Requirements:
Valid Driver's License

Initial Selection Criteria:
• Ability to work in a professional customer service environment. • Experience in performing routine office duties. • Must have skills using a personal computer including Microsoft Office programs, fax machines and printers. • Ability to communicate effectively in writing. • Must be willing to travel approximately 10% of the time and occasionally overnight.
