Job Description

Parker Loss Consultants is a national provider of specialty claims management services, including Commercial Property, Commercial Liability and Personal lines of business. Our focus is on each client's trust in our ability to pro-actively manage their Large / Complex assignments. We maintain a consistent approach in managing adjuster caseloads to avoid overlooked opportunities and costly mistakes.


The Claims Examiner is responsible for managing the entire claims process from inception to completion. The business-critical role collaborates with both field and desk adjusters, as well as fellow examiners to collect data, and compile and review various reports and other relevant material to make final claim and payment determinations in accordance with applicable policies. The Claims Examiner serves as representation of the organization to the both the client and the insured in its commitment to deliver accurate, timely, knowledgeable, compliant, and professional adjustment and claim services.

This is a remote-based role but our contractors are PLC family and welcome to utilize our office space!

What you'll be doing:

  • Providing end to end management of property loss claims according to policy coverage and state requirements
  • Actively overseeing the investigation, reporting, inspection of losses, and computerized damage estimating of independent field adjusters
  • Coordinating with field/desk adjusters, insureds, and/or client to review reports, estimates, assessments to determine damage caused by insured loss.
  • Conducting thorough coverage analysis and creating detailed reports for clients
  • Maintaining accurate, up to date, and comprehensive documentation of claim information for assigned files
  • Proactively managing communication with adjusters and client’s staff during the claims process
  • Effectively collaborating with internal departments including accounting and clerical staff
  • Issuing settlement payments based on predetermined payment authority and obtaining appropriate releases for adjusted claims

What you'll bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Degree preferred
  • State adjusters license strongly preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in surplus and excess lines or combined education and industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to read, interpret, and apply insurance policies and coverage to a loss
  • Strong attention to detail and excellence in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and productivity results under tight deadlines and times of increased work volume (CAT)
