Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Interviews customers applying for credit and assists them in all matters pertaining to their charge accounts.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
The candidate must have a minimum of six months experience working in a customer service setting.
Language Skills
Associate must have the ability to speak and understand English and Spanish at a conversational level. Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must also be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
Computer Skills
The candidate must have basic computer and typing skills and be able to use a computer keyboard.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those associate encounters while performing the essential functions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Interviews customers applying for credit and assists them in all matters pertaining to their charge accounts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists customers in filling out application.- Photocopies pertinent documents to archive applicant’s likeliness and signature. Ascertains document’s validity as well as expiration dates.
- Reviews applications received by mail and entered them into the system.
- Confers with customers to explain to them the available charge plans: their features, benefits, responsibilities, and limitations.
- Files applications in numerical order and ensures next day delivery to credit central office.
- Checks reference by form or letter and notify customer of application status.
- Verifies entries and corrects errors on customer files.
- Issues temporary credit slip when credit is approved.
- Files out forms for: co-signer, change of terms, revolving insurance, according to established policies, instructions and procedures.
- Are actively involved in telemarketing, sales promotions, and achieving the credit department’s goals.
- Ability to interpret all tangible and intangibles credit variables to assess risk of credit extension.
- Confers with credit approvers on intangible risk analysis.
