Child Care Cook/Assistant Teacher

Kingston's Central Valley Child Care is searching for a fun, enthusiastic Cook/Assistant Teacher to join our team!

Our Center Cook is an important Assistant Teacher in our small program who works with all staff throughout the day. The Cook is responsible for serving healthy kid friendly meals in accordance with the Center schedule, licensing and CACFP guidelines.

The Cook also provide breaks, lunches and support to classrooms during meals and transitions. This position works with toddler and preschool children under the supervision of Lead Teachers and Program Supervisors.

Work Hours: This is part time and generally Monday through Friday 8:30am to 1:00pm. Hours may vary with advance notice. Employees wanting more hours would have opportunity to fill in for other staff requesting time off.

Requirements:

-Current food handler’s permit

-Meet all Department of Children, Youth and Family training requirements

-Experience working in Licensed Child Care

-Ability to manage children’s behaviors in a positive manner in accordance with Licensing and Center Policies

Education Requirements:

Minimum: High School Diploma with STARS Basic 30- (ECE Initial Certificate in 5 years)

Preferred: ECE Initial Certificate (12 Credits)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
