As the Chief System Architect for Hybrid Cloud Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the strategic and technical direction for NetApp’s portfolio of platforms and storage. You will work with 2,000+ engineers, business units, operations, and vendors to build world class systems that take of advantage of leading-edge compute, networking, and media technologies paired with NetApp’s world class storage software portfolio.
You will be a key technical and strategic consultant to NetApp executives regarding disruptive technology trends and evolving industry directions and their impact on NetApp roadmaps. You will also identify gaps and weaknesses in NetApp’s portfolio and provide options and recommendation for correction. You will work closely with NetApp’s principal engineers and architects to optimize the combination of software features and hardware to create work class storage products. You will work with our engineering leaders to attract, develop, and retain key technical talent within NetApp. Finally, you will be a key leader in helping to accelerate NetApp’s software defined storage offerings.
Job Requirements
BS in engineering, computer science, or an applied science field with a demonstrable portfolio of patents and technical publications relevant to enterprise systems and software.

Job Requirements
- US Citizen with ability to attain highest levels of U.S government security clearances.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in enterprise level storage system design and architecture with a deep understanding of software and hardware.
- Experience at delivering software defined storage solutions on third party platforms.
- Ability to converge the requirements of cloud architectures and large-scale data centers for NetApp operating systems into 3-7 year roadmaps.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with extensive experience managing matrixed resources and the ability to lead with an “others first” model.
