Job Description

Position Summary:
Cutter Aviation has an immediate need for an energetic and knowledgeable aviation professional to serve as Chief Pilot based at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (KPHX).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As authorized by the Director of Operations, may exercise authority over initiation, conduct, and termination of flights.
  • Reports to the Director of Operations.
  • Supervises the Assistant Chief Pilots assigned to each operating base.
  • Supervises flight crew personnel.
  • Performs the duties of the Director of Training when that position is vacant.
  • Acts as Senior Check Airman when that position is vacant.
  • Assists the Director of Operations in formulating operations policies, coordinates those policies, and coordinates operations and training.
  • Ensures that all aircraft are properly equipped for applicable operations.
  • Disseminates information to all crewmembers pertaining to routes, airports, NOTAMS, NAVAIDS, company policies, and regulations.
  • Maintains proficiency as Pilot-in-Command.
  • Schedules flight crewmembers, including assigning Pilot-in-Command duties.
  • Prepares and maintains proficiency records, pilot files, flight schedules, duty time records, reports, and correspondence pertaining to flight operations activities.
  • Submits all reports regarding flight personnel to the Director of Operations.
  • Ensures that all flight crew personnel are certified and supervised according to the requirements specified in the Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Manages the RVSM operations and coordinates with the Director of Maintenance for error reporting to the FAA.
  • Additional administrative duties as assigned by Director of Operations

Minimum Requirements: *

  • Multi-Engine Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
  • Previous turbojet type rating
  • Current 1st Class Medical or ability to qualify for one.
  • No accidents, incidents or sanctions in the past 5 years
  • Knowledge of general aviation aircraft and their service requirements and the needs of crews and passengers
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to train an SIC pilot to properly perform their functions
  • A sincere desire to assist customers and be part of a team
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills
  • Professional in appearance and mannerisms
  • Able to develop a friendly rapport
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent ability to multi-task
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications: *

  • Preference will be given to candidates with:
  • 3000 Total Time hours
  • 1500 PIC Hours
  • 250 PIC Hours in turbine powered aircraft
  • Previous experience in on demand charter operations
  • 3 years or more of Part 121 or Part 135 air carrier experience
  • ATP rating
  • Previous FSI or Simuflite Training

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a drug screening test
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Clean driving record
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have a current Passport
