LB&B Associates Inc. is currently accepting applications for a full-time, exempt Chief Engineer to support our contract to provide operations and maintenance services at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in Baltimore, MD.

The ideal candidate must have at least a High School Diploma, Maryland First Grade Stationary Engineer license, AND eight (8) years of combined experience as a Facility Supervisor, Chief Engineer, Lead Engineer, or related position in a central plant overseeing the preventative and corrective maintenance of similar equipment as the CMS facilities. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, self-starting leader who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with an operating and maintenance team. The ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization is essential.

Summary: Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of mechanical equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.

· Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment to ensure continuous production operations.

· Coordinates activities of maintenance workers.

· Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.

· Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.

· Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.

· Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.

· Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.

· Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.

· Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
