Job Description

Emerald Hospitality Associates is currently seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic Chef for the Hilton Garden Inn located in Wallingford, CT.

What will your job responsibilities and duties be?

  • Prepare food by pre-described cooking methods and recipes.
  • Enforce proper food temperature guidelines, food sanitary requirements, safety procedures, and food portion controls.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of kitchen and store room areas.
  • Provide direction and leadership to all associates in the kitchen. Interview, hire, train, and discipline all kitchen associates, when appropriate.
  • Utilize labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs.
  • Responsible for the inventory, purchasing, disbursement, and cost control for all kitchen items.
  • Menu development/refresh.
  • Work with, communicate and coordinate with front of the house and event services for all food involved functions.

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated kitchen management experience

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
