Job Duties
- Functions as a member of team by attending interdisciplinary team conference, support meetings, and other meetings as appropriate.
- Assesses each patient and family and caregiver for spiritual needs and concerns in consultation with other team members.
- Provides direct chaplaincy service (when accepted) to patients and their families and caregivers of different philosophies and religious perspectives.
- Consults, if requested by patient and family, the patient's clergy of choice and advises him and her on admission.
- Documents all visits and phone calls and places documentation in clinical record within an appropriate time frame.
- Provides counseling as needed and requested.
- Provides consultation, counsel, and support to other team members as appropriate.
- Assists with training programs and in-services education as requested.
- Assists with community education as applicable.

Position Details
This Chaplain position is a non-benefited per diem 8-12 hour shift position in a fast paced level 2 trauma center that includes covering weekends, nights, and holidays. Master Degree in Divinity, Theology, Religious Studies, or related field required. 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required. Coverage of other Geisinger Community Medical Center as needed.
