JOB SUMMARY: Provides direct patient care in the clinical outpatient setting’s of the Cath Lab, Special Procedure’s and Diagnostic Imaging. The nurse will work collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members under the direction of the Department Director or designee. The goal is to promote and restore patient’s health by completing the nursing process through the collection, verification and organization of data, incorporating elements of family centered care. Planning for care, implementing and assessing the plan and evaluating their outcomes are integral elements of the nursing process. Documentation of findings in a timely and accurate manner according to hospital policy is required.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Three years experience in an Acute Care setting preferred. Previous experience in Cardiac Cath Lab or Special Procedure’s preferred, including the delivery of sedation.
EDUCATION: Graduate of a Professional School of Nursing.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Current Montana License as a Registered Nurse. BLS, ACLS required. For those nurses working in DI, PALS certification is also required. Competency delivering sedation will be maintained according to hospital policy. Certification in a Nursing Specialty, such as CCRN, preferred.
Aptitudes: Must demonstrate cognitive and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers. Possesses interpersonal and communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental and empathetic patient care and customer relations. Must be able to work effectively within a team and be able to contribute to a positive workplace.
